International, 15.3.2011: Lb3: Enhanced comfort and flexibility for bathrooms and guest bathrooms

Laufen’s extension of the Lb3 bathroom collection brings enhanced comfort to the bathroom: New products include a WC with raised seat, an additional small washbasin for guest bathrooms and furniture with high quality drawers without a siphon cut-out. Laufen thus re-emphasises the user-friendly nature of Lb3 – created by Ludovica+Roberto Palomba, the bathroom collection was specially designed for the practical requirements of everyday use.

On the new Laufen Lb3 comfort WC the seat is raised by six centimetres. This can make a huge difference to people with impaired mobility. The seat position is more upright and comfortable than on conventional WCs, and because the knee is bent by around 90 degrees on a higher seat, sitting down and standing up again is easier and a lot more comfortable. Milan designers Ludovica+Roberto Palomba have of course ensured that the stylish timeless design language of the Comfort WCs is at one with the entire Lb3 collection.

Another practical aspect of the comfortable WC is that it can also be used in bathroom makeovers. Thanks to standard fixture dimensions, it fits onto existing wall connections and works with all commercially available flush-mounted cisterns. Sealed inner flushing rims on the Lb3 comfort WC guarantee easy cleaning by preventing grime collecting on  difficult to access places. This intelligent user-friendly solution won the Universal Design Award 2011 and the Universal Design Consumer Favourite 2011.

Also new to the Lb3 collection is a small washbasin in the ‛classic’ design version, so guest bathrooms can now also be designed consistently. Just 450 x 450 mm, the small washbasin dispenses with a visible hole for the overflow. Instead, it is fitted with a concealed overflow system.

Laufen has also added new washbasin vanity units with drawers to its Lb3 furniture range. They match the ‛classic’ and ‛modern’ design versions of the bathroom collection. As Laufen has used a new type of siphon here, no space is wasted on a siphon cut-out in the drawer – a genuine innovation. With an understated, exclusive appearance, the new vanity unit is available in a real oak wood veneer and in Wenge and White, both with oak graining. Instead of round door handles, the drawers are fitted with enduring, easy-grip chromed handles. The spacious tall cabinet and movable roll container in the bathroom collection can now also be selected with identical handles.

New mirrors with frames in brushed aluminium complete the Lb3 range. They are optionally available with LED lighting to optimally illuminate the washbasin.
